Our item #5900 is a professional ball joint and tie rod taper reamer set manufactured from premium M2 high speed steel. This service pack includes three genuine automotive taper reamers covering the most commonly used standard and metric taper-per-foot sizes found in heavy-duty steering and suspension applications.

The #5900 set includes:

• #5952 – 1-1/2" Taper Per Foot (7.15 Degree included angle)

• #5912 – 1.200" Taper Per Foot (6 Degree included angle)

• #5902 – 2" Taper Per Foot (9.56 Degree included angle)

USE

These reamers are designed for production work and cut material quickly at speeds from 100 to 400 RPM. A full pecking cycle and oil-based coolant are strongly recommended for maximum performance, accuracy, and surface finish.

Each reamer can be used:

• By hand with a tap wrench or socket

• In a drill press or vertical mill using a ½" or larger drill chuck or ½" collet

Important: These are reamers, not drills. Run at half the speed (RPM) and twice the feed of a drill for proper cutting and tool life.
